Training Programme: Digital Skills of AMU Network Leaders

The Continuous Training Programme for AMU Network Leaders in Albania, focused on Digital Skills, was successfully implemented to empower network leaders with the competencies needed to plan and manage activities through modern information technology. The programme also aimed to strengthen professional development and to support teachers and students in building their digital competence.

Objectives of the Training

The programme was designed to:

  • Equip network leaders with the ability to plan and manage network activities using digital tools.
  • Enable the selection, adaptation, and evaluation of reliable digital resources for education.
  • Strengthen online communication and collaboration through platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom.
  • Develop inclusive teaching strategies and student digital competences.
  • Promote safe and responsible use of digital technologies for both teachers and students.

Key Competencies Gained

By the end of the training, participants were able to:

  • Plan and organize network activities with ICT.
  • Establish and manage online platforms for communication and training.
  • Use digital tools for continuous professional development, assessment, and inclusive teaching.
  • Support colleagues and students in safe and effective digital communication.

Structure of the Training

The course lasted 4 days (24 hours of direct training) plus 12 hours of online and network-level activities. It was delivered through a balanced mix of theory (30%), practical exercises (60%), and assessment (10%).

Training Modules Included:

  1. Use of ICT in planning and managing network activities
    • Focus on integrating digital tools into daily leadership and teaching practices.
  2. Use of ICT for continuous professional development
    • Strategies for ongoing learning, digital identity, and safe digital environments.

Approach and Methodology

The training combined illustrated explanations, group work, practical demonstrations, and discussions, encouraging active learning and hands-on practice. Each participant developed a training portfolio documenting their progress and achievements, serving both as final evaluation and as a resource for applying newly gained skills in future practice.

This programme marks an important step in strengthening digital leadership capacity within AMU networks, ensuring that Albanian educators and students are better prepared for the digital era of teaching and learning.
